Self Portrait 2017

We used an art technique called cross-hatching to create our self portrait this year. This technique creates more of a 3d effect which is what we were wanting rather than just coloring ourselves in. Miss O'B had an A3 black and white photo of us. First we had to color our pupil, iris and cornea with appropriate colors. We then used 'people crayons' which are made with skin tone colors. Using the two closest colors to our skin tone, we cross hatched our face starting at our forehead and moving down to our neck. The hardest part was our nose.  We then colored our hair, completed our school uniform and blocked out the background in a vibrant pastel color so our faces stood out. So what do you think of my self portrait?
